Mattress Firm Bankruptcy
Mattress Firm, the largest seller of mattresses in the US filed for bankruptcy protection (Oct. 5). The company has 3,400 locations nationwide. They plan to close “as many as 700 by year’s end”.

Cheap Amazon Mattresses Undercut Other Brands
Amazon came out with their own mattress and it’s really cheap. They have two brands: AmazonBasics brand and Rivet.
The AmazonBasics memory foam bed comes in 8″, 10″ and 12″. The 8″ king is $239.99 and is included in Amazon Prime (shipping is free). It has a 1 year warranty.
Rivet is their other brand. Only the Rivet brand offers a 100-day free trial. The rest are standard 30 days.

Bed-in-a-box company Brooklyn Bedding came out with a new natural bed called the Bloom Hybrid.
The 12″ tall bed has responsibly sourced latex foam, individually wrapped coils, and a cotton/wool cover. The coils are made from recycled material.
Best of all the Bloom Hybrid comes in 3 firmness levels. Yes, they offer a firm, which is more difficult to find in boxed brands.
Price for a king is $2,199.
