Avocado Green Mattress Sells Organic Cotton Face Masks Amid Coronavirus Fears

Avocado green mattress logoHow is the bedding industry reacting to the coronavirus pandemic? Well, one company, Avocado Green, is making their own organic cotton face masks. We’re certainly used to seeing sleep masks, but this is the first we’ve seen of a mattress company selling face masks.

They’re sold in packages of 8 masks, called a family pack, for $30. There is a limit of 3 family packs per household. There is no sleep trial or warranty. And they’re non refundable. But if you need one, don’t want to sew your own, plus need organic cotton, this could be ideal for you.

According to a post on their Facebook page, the masks are washable and this is what they want to accomplish:

Our goal is always to create reusable, multiple-use products whenever possible.

Please note that when you shop through our links we may earn a commission.

Medical professionals can bulk orders the face masks. They also noted they can provide temporary/disposable mattresses, reusable sheeting, disposable protective wear, and waterproof wedge pillows.

The design is based on this face mask pattern.

Any mask is better than no mask and even the CDC give guidelines for making your own face mask.

A study of homemade face masks “found that the median-fit factor of the homemade masks was one-half that of the surgical masks. Both masks significantly reduced the number of microorganisms expelled by volunteers, although the surgical mask was 3 times more effective in blocking transmission than the homemade mask.” Read: if it’s all that you have or you want to signal to people to keep their distance (because you’re immunocompromised, for example), this can help.
