Brentwood Home has several models to choose from, including a flippable one. This is a luxury hybrid mattress which means it has foam and coils. Made in the USA (in Los Angeles). With a full 1-year trial and 25-year warranty, you’re buying quality!

Brentwood’s Oceano (the most popular) has OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified naturally crimped wool from New Zealand.  The company sells mattress toppers that are also gorgeous, however, they do not carry a mattress protector (see below for recommendations and a coupon for our favorites).

3. Dreamcloud

Amazingly enough, Dreamcloud recently dropped their prices – significantly. This is a European-style pillow top with tufting and a cashmere cover. It’s gorgeous, thick, and luxurious. However, we find it a bit more firm than other brands. So if you like a medium or soft bed, go with another choice.

In case you don’t know, Nectar, Dreamcloud, and Awara are all owned by the same company. So it makes sense that they have similar warranties and a full-year trial period.

Protect your Mattress in Case of Return

Naturally, mattress companies would rather not have you return a bed at any time. It’s a big expense. So they might be pickier about the condition of the bed when it’s returned.

WARNING: To be safe, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you protect your mattress with a mattress protector. Ideally, a 6-sided mattress protector (also called encasement cover) that is waterproof and completely covers the bed, the sides, and the bottom. That way, you won’t have any stains or spills on any part – since even the bottom can get dirty with dust.

Be careful with pet hair, and be sure to get a mattress bag if you have to move or store your mattress. Some mattress companies will ask for a photo of the bed to confirm its condition, so you want it to be in the best possible shape.

Even if you’re not planning to return your bed, it’s always a good idea to get a mattress protector. You can’t wash your mattress in the washing machine, but you can wash a mattress protector. And it’ll keep your bed looking brand new. You can buy a mattress protector from the brands where you buy your bed, but they do not offer one.
